Skin Care Products for Common Problems
There are many problems we all experience with our skin and a variety of skin care products to solve them. But how can you tell which ones will be right for you?
You may already know that the human body’s largest organ is skin. Too often we neglect it, and pay for it with problem areas. Why not use skin care products to treat them, rather than suffer? The following are some common problems that can easily be solved with appropriate products which can be readily available for purchase.
Acne
Acne affects not only 90% of teenagers with raging hormones, but can occur even past age 40. It involves the tiny hair roots of the face and other body parts such as the back, shoulders, and neck. The roots become inflamed, usually due to an excess of sebaceous glands and a change in hair follicles. Acne pustules form, bringing in white blood cells to kill bacteria present from these conditions.
You cannot prevent acne. Neither changes to diet nor personal hygiene can completely prevent the formation of white or black heads. Acne skin care products work on treating the inflamed skin and preventing damage.
Men’s Skin
Common problems with men’s skin include bumps, rashes, and ingrown hairs associated with shaving. Men of African or Caribbean descent are more prone to these problems because of their curly facial hair; in fact it is estimated that nearly 80% of them suffer from skin conditions due to shaving.
The cause is usually an infection of the hair follicles. Bacteria that live in nasal passages can be transferred to other areas of the face while shaving. Another common cause is in-growing of too-short or too-long hairs. Men’s skin care products can work much the same way as acne creams – soothing the irritation, preventing scarring, and keeping the skin moist.
Body Skin
Skin on other parts of our body is prone to a variety of ailments. Eczema and psoriasis are two of the more common that can be treated with differing degrees of success.
Eczema refers to dry, sore patches which crack, swell, and crust. Leading causes include stress, reactions to fragrances or cosmetics, and food allergies. Soothing skin care products that contains herbal oils and vitamins can be effective in treating the condition.
Psoriasis is indicated by bright red skin inflammations along with dry, raised scales of a silvery color. These are old cells that tend to accumulate in the knees, elbows, back, chest, buttocks, and nails. In severe cases, it can cover the whole body with unsightly, crusty patches. Psoriasis is often the result of bacterial infections, sunburn, some medications, and viruses. Body skin care products include treatment with essential oils, vitamins, and sometimes Dead Sea salts.
Face Skin
Seborrhea, much like acne, is caused by an abundance of oil glands. It can appear in the same places on the body, as well as the scalp. The red eruptions of seborrhea are the body’s response to an abnormal rate of skin cell and oil production.
The condition is often caused by a change in diet, allergies to food, hormonal deficiencies, and stress. Face skin care products that help control the condition contain a variety of vitamins, herbs, and essential oils.
Eye Skin
Many people suffer from problems with the skin around their eyes. Dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles – all of these are common in both men and women, particularly as we age. Diet, stress, general health, dry skin, and lack of sleep are all contributing factors, but for some people these conditions are hereditary.
Treating the delicate skin beneath the eye involves adding moisture to this area, which contains no oil glands. There are a number of eye skin care products that can swell the skin, reducing the appearance of lines. Still others focus on lightening the pigments and soothing the inflammation that causes puffiness.
Skin care products and a proven regimen of a few minutes a day can help with any of these common problems so that your skin will look and feel great.
