Combating the Signs of Aging: Eye Wrinkle

One of the most obvious signs of aging, an eye wrinkle is both obvious and hard to get rid of once it appears. Not only does an Eye Wrinkle give away your age, they tend to make your face look tired. They are often accompanied by dark circles and puffiness – still more unattractive features to worry about and treat.

About Under Eye Skin and Wrinkles

The skin under and around your eyes is very delicate. The tissue there is thin and it requires special care to ensure that it is not damaged. Unfortunately, many of us have already done harm by spending too much time in the sun, smoking, putting on makeup with less than gentle strokes, and other damaging things. There is no way to undo those bad habits of the past.

So what can you do about eye wrinkles? If you have not properly cared for your skin through the years, it may take more than just an anti-wrinkle cream to minimize their appearance. The good news is that there are some advanced anti wrinkle treatment options currently on the market, or coming soon.

Eye Wrinkle Advanced Treatments

Eye gels and skin firming creams are a temporary fix for wrinkles around the eyes. These products puff up the skin and fill in lines in order to make the appearance of wrinkling less noticeable. Over-the-counter creams usually contain alphahydroxy acid, vitamins, and copper peptide, among other ingredients that can temporarily repair or refine the skin.

But in order to successfully get rid of wrinkles, they must be permanently removed. There are some newer, non-invasive and reasonably priced cosmetic treatments that can be done in the dermatologist’s office or even at home.

Your doctor may be able to use dermal fillers such as Botox or Restylane on your wrinkles. These products fill in the lines and depressions from wrinkles and the results last for four to six months per treatment.

Under eye skin can also be tightened. Thermage is one of the newer treatment options to accomplish this.

Lasers can zap the skin beneath and around the eyes. Fraxel, Erbium, and Silk Touch are some of the more popular brand names for these laser treatments.

Earlier this year the FDA approved an eye wrinkle laser device that can be safely used at home. This product was developed in conjunction with Johnson and Johnson Consumer Companies and will be offered for sale by Palomar Medical Technologies. Much cheaper and more private than a cosmetic treatment at the doctor’s office, this new laser device is expected to be extremely popular when it is brought onto the market in the future.

One of the best ways to deal with aging skin is to remove the signs, such as an Eye Wrinkle. Luckily, new technology means there are many options for successful banishment of wrinkles and even such things as adult acne.
